California Street

is a modern, eco-friendly, energy efficient make over to a modest single family home in Burbank, California. The new design removes the majority of interior walls, which creates an open concept living / kitchen / dining area that spills out to a large covered patio in the back yard. At the back of the property a guest house and a detached garage frame a courtyard with the mainhouse. The courtyard acts as an outdoor living room which makes the modest sized house live larger and takes advantage of the Southern California climate. This project is featured in the L.A. Times.
