who we are

Born and raised in the midwest, Robert Sweet received his Architecture degree from the University of Kansas. He moved to Los Angeles after graduating in 2000 and interned for the firm Guthrie + Buresh. He later went on to work for Dean Nota Architect where he gained invaluable experience working on custom modern residential and commercial projects throughout Southern California and abroad.

In 2007, Robert formed ras-a inc., a multidisciplinary Design Studio. The goal of ras-a is to create inventive architecture that enhances the quality of living while leaving a positive impact on the community and environment. Each project is provided its own unique solution based on the site, context, program, and budget.

Offering a Designer led - Design/Build project delivery, ras-a, inc. can be a one stop shop for your project needs. Ras-a acts as both the designer and builder, coordinating a team of consultants, contractors and material suppliers throughout the project lifecycle. This dynamic delivery method allows the client to have a single point of contact, is highly efficient, and ensures a quality end product.

Alternatively, ras-a can offer a Design-Bid-Build project delivery. We will provide design services and then assist the client in bidding out our design to a third party contractor whom the client will have a separate contract with.

Both delivery methods can have their benefits and Ras-a will work with the client to determine which one best suits their needs.
